The Beauty in Florence

Having been in Florence for a couple of weeks now, I have been able to firsthand experience the beauty and the specialties of this city.
I quickly became a big fan of the gelato shops in every corner, and became a loyal to the Fragola (strawberry flavor). More on food, I had the opportunities to try popular restaurants, and some hole in the wall small family shops. A popular Tik Tok recommendation was Trattoria Za Za, as soon as we walked nearby we understood why a reservation was greatly recommended, as the wait line wrapped around the corner. However, as soon as our plates arrived I quickly understood why. I indulged in a house popular steak, with roasted potatoes and it was impeccable. However, as my experiences with steak grew I came to learn that concept of "well done" is basically unheard of here. When you order medium rare, expect rare, and rare, is well, pretty much raw. A fully cooked slice of meat is almost disgraceful. Acclimatizing myself to these customs was a bit of a process, but I am definitely not as close minded as I was before.

Another issue you will never have here, is eating with a view. With beautiful points all over all the city, during this past week I made the trek to Piazzale Michelangelo. A high point on the outskirts of the city, showcasing a replica of the David Statue at your peripheral and a beautiful city line sunset view to your right. The sight is nothing short of breathtaking, and showcases Florences most famous city points: the Duomo, Giotto's Bell Tower, and the Arnolfo Tower of Palazzo. Finding a beautoful sunset day and sitting on the stairs with the live music surrounding will definitely be one of my favorite experiences from my home city.
